Department of Pharmacy :

The mission of the Pharmacy Department is to promote patients’ health by providing excellent, innovative pharmaceutical care, and bring forth a better quality of life. Through teamwork, we commit ourselves to you in providing high quality healthcare and promoting wellness for the body. We cherish these core values as providing professional excellence in pharmacy practice, education and training, R&D, as well as quality dispensing routines.

Scope of practice:
The department incorporates the following pharmaceutical services:
Ambulatory, Emergency, Inpatient and Discharge services. The ER pharmacy offers round the clock service.
The Inpatient pharmacy services consist of Unit-Dose drug distribution system, Chemotherapeutic regimen preparation, Clinical Pharmacy Services which aim to identify, resolve and prevent drug therapy problem, which are composed of Patient counseling, Pharmacokinetic dosing service for the Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, Drug Information Service for medical colleagues, Adverse Drug Reaction Reporting and Monitoring etc.

Organization and Pharmacist Competence:
The pharmacy department encompasses five divisions i.e. Dispensing, Clinical Pharmacy, Drug procurement, Research & Development, and Quality Improvement with a framework consists of one director and nineteen pharmacists. All members are qualified and registered pharmacists. Five of them earned Master Degree qualifications in various pharmacy related field, i.e. Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, Institutional Pharmacy Administration. Two of them have been granted the lectureship by the Ministry of Education. Half of our registered pharmacist owns a Bachelor Degree of Pharmacy. Pharmacists are encouraged to study the graduate school and upgrade their professional competency.

Quality Assurance of pharmacy:
The Pharmacy department has earned the ISO 2000 certification for 3 consecutive years, and run the QCC exercise (Quality Control Circle) every year. The Guidelines and Evaluation on quality assurance are applicable to pharmaceutical services in various settings, including: Administration, dispensing monitoring, clinicial pharmacy monitoring, medication error research and quality assurance monitoring. We inspect and make a decision to improve the situation every month.

Education and Training:
The educational activities include pharmacy student internship training, Orientation for the freshman staff, weekly seminar, and pharmacist continuing education on a regular basis, we accept pharmacy students from Medical University and College of pharmacy.
